The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning through 8 p.m Saturday, July 4.
The weather agency warns of a “prolonged and dangerous heat wave’’ and noted that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity.
The heat wave will offer “little relief at night,’’ the service reported.
Drink plenty of fluids, remain in air conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check on neighbors, the service advises.
