LAKEVILLE -- The body of a 24-year-old Brockton woman was located on Long Pond early Wednesday July 1, Police Chief Matthew Perkins reports.
The Lakeville Police and Fire departments responded at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 30 to Long Pond, in the area of Nelson Island and Big Beach in response to reports that a passenger had fallen from a jet ski.
Lakeville was assisted at the scene by the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) Dive Team, the Plymouth County Dive Team, and the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
The woman’s name is not being released at this time, officials said.
The incident is under investigation by Lakeville Police, the Massachusetts Environmental Police, and State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.
