Middleboro will paint the town red, white and blue for July Fourth
MIDDLEBORO -- Middleboro is gearing up for its traditional Fourth of July celebration, and the week is jam-packed with activities.
The celebration includes a parade, carnival and fireworks, among other features.
The carnival comes to town Wednesday, July 1 to Sunday, July 5 at the Peirce Park on Jackson Street.
Hours are: 6 to 10 p.m. July 1 and July 2. On Friday July 3, the carnival is open from 6 to 11:25 p.m., with fireworks topping off the night.
Saturday, July 4 hours are 2 to 10 p.m. The carnival’s last day in town is Sunday, July 5 from 1 to 6 p.m.

Fireworks will light up the town sky at 10 p.m. Friday July 3. The fireworks are supported by the Peirce Trustees. Rain date is 10 p.m. Sunday, July 5.
A big day is planned for July 4.
The North Middleboro Parade steps off at the Titicut Green at 10 a.m. The parade traditionally features colorful floats created by town organizations and other attractions.
The watermelon eating contest takes place at 1 p.m. at the Peirce Park followed by the greasy pole contest for those looking for a slippery challenge.
There is no lack of ways to celebrate the nation's 250th.
