Fair days ahead: Middleboro, Lakeville offer a variety of fall festivals

Popcorn, petting zoos, Vinny the Bubble Guy: They’re all in the mix as Middleboro and Lakeville host a number of fairs in September and October.

The 10th Annual Lakeville Lions Fall Family Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Lakeville Lions Clubhouse, 170 Main St,

This family-friendly event includes face painting, small farm animals, henna hand art, bounce house, games, dunk tank, food, popcorn, raffles, airbrush tattoos, more than 40 local craft vendors, live music and a Mad Science show at 1p.m. 

Lakeville Fire and Police departments will also have community outreach booths. New this year is Vinny the Bubble Guy, who will entertain from 2 to 3 p.m., craft beer by Red Hand Brewery and wine by Running Brook Vineyards.

The Titicut Green Fall Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at North Congregational Church, 38 Plymouth St., Middleboro.

More than 60 artisans and crafters will display their wares. Food from the Titicut Café, church lady preserves and a children’s fun space will be available.

Fall will be celebrated at the Soule Homestead Annual Harvest Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at Soule Homestead Education Center, 46 Soule St., Middleboro.

The festival features hayrides, local artisans and crafters, live music, tractor rides, a free children's area, face painting, and a story walk.

You won’t get bogged down but you will celebrate cranberries at the 12th annual Crantoberfest to be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at Town Hall lawn, 10 Nickerson Ave., Middleboro.

The day’s activities, sponsored by the Middleboro Tourism Committee, will include the Great Cranberry Bake-Off at 1 p.m. with first, second, and third-place prizes awarded for home bakers and a special prize awarded to a professional baker. 

The Ms./Mr. Crantoberfest contest will take place at 2 p.m.

Contestants will test their knowledge of the cranberry industry and showcase their Middleboro pride.

The annual costume parade steps off at 3 p.m. for those ages 8 and younger and ages 9 and older. There will also be a Cape Cod Cranberries’ Traveling Cranberry Bog where visitors can see a live cranberry bog and ecosystem and ask questions about cranberry cultivation.

The Angers Conway Farm will host its fourth annual fall festival and Arthur Conway Memorial Car Show from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the farm, 33 Southworth St., Lakeville.

There will be live music, farm animals, hayrides, face-painting, kids crafts and activities, food and drinks, arts and crafts vendors, and an antique car show.

Elliott Farm in Lakeville will host a harvest festival from 1 to 5 p.m,. Saturday, Oct. 10.

This family-friendly event will take place amid pumpkins, sunflowers and other splashes of fall colors.
