Cynthia Follis

Cynthia Follis, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2026. She was born on December 23, 1941, in Lakeville, and leaves behind a lifetime of memories, accomplishments, and love that will continue to live on through her family.

Cynthia was a woman of many talents and many chapters. Throughout her life, she served her community in numerous ways, including owning and operating a travel agency, serving as a Justice of the Peace, and working as a constable. She was independent, capable, and never afraid to take on something new. Her many interests and accomplishments reflected her adventurous spirit and her willingness to make a difference wherever she could.

Cynthia had a special love for travel and enjoyed the experiences and memories that came with seeing new places. She also found great joy in her home and family. Holiday dinners hosted by Cynthia became treasured occasions, bringing loved ones together around her table. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was at the heart of her life, and the memories she created with them will be treasured for generations.

She is survived by her brother, Frank; her daughter, Marybeth Follis; her grandchildren, Cassandra and Paul; and her five great-grandchildren, Anna, Lily, Daniel, Madeline, and Mary Jane.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Follis Alecrim; her son, Robert Follis, her sister, Marsha; her brother, Tommy; and her beloved grandson, Matthew.

Though Cynthia’s life has come to its close, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain. She will be remembered for her strength, her many talents, her adventurous spirit, her generosity, and especially for the love she had for her family.

She will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her, and the love she gave her family will continue through the generations.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Wareham on October 18, 2026 to be followed by a celebration of life at Stone Path Malt, 11 Kendrick Road, Wareham. 

May she rest peacefully, surrounded forever by the love of those whose lives she touched.
