Six Middleboro, Apponequet students honored by Southcoast Health
Six area graduating high school seniors recently received scholarships from the Southcoast Health Ambassadors. Each student received $1,500 to support their college education.
The students demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and a strong commitment to pursuing careers in the medical field.
Recipients on behalf of Charlton Memorial Hospital are:
Ashna Kantamkulathy, a member of the Class of 2026 at Apponequet Regional High School, received the Southcoast Cardiac Surgery Scholarship. She plans to attend the University of Massachusetts majoring in biology.
Hannah Kuriscak, a member of the Class of 2026 at Apponequet Regional High School, received the Ann Petrella Memorial Scholarship. She plans to attend Villanova University majoring in biology.
Nora McClurkin, a member of the Class of 2026 at Apponequet Regional High School, received the Dr. Christopher Skeehan and Mrs. Emily Skeehan Health Professions Scholarship. She plans to attend Northeastern University, majoring in biochemistry.
Vidhya Santhosh, a member of the Class of 2026 at Apponequet Regional High School, received the Dr. Ashok Gajwani and Mrs. Madhushree Gajwani Scholarship. She plans to attend Tufts University.
Recipients on behalf of Tobey Hospital are:
Taryn Clancy, a member of the Class of 2026 at Middleboro High School, received the BayCoast Bank Scholarship. She plans to attend UMass Dartmouth, majoring in nursing.
Meghan Youngquist, a member of the Class of 2026 at Middleboro High School, received the Phyllis N. Upham Memorial Scholarship in Memory of Glen Bauer. She plans to attend Northeastern University majoring in nursing.
“We are delighted that you have chosen to pursue careers in healthcare, and I’m sure my colleagues here will agree that although healthcare can be challenging, it is fulfilling and meaningful work,” said David McCready, President and CEO of Southcoast Health, to the students at the annual scholarship lunch event. “By supporting students who are pursuing careers in healthcare and medicine today, we are ensuring that there will be skilled caregivers to serve our communities in the future.”
