Scare up some fun this Halloween in Middleboro, Lakeville
Don’t turn into a pumpkin this season. Check out the range of Halloween activities scheduled in Middleboro and Lakeville for the scariest time of the year.
Oct. 25
The Lakeville Parks Department will a host trunk or treat at the Ted Williams Camp in Lakeville. A sensory-sensitive event will take place from 3:30 to 4 p.m. A general event is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. In honor of Lifelong Girl Scout Dolly Parton, area scouts will collect gently used children’s books. Prizes will be awarded in exchange for donations.
Oct. 28
Boofest, a kids’ Halloween party, will be held for children younger than 6 and their families at 10 and 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Middleboro Public Library.
The event features festive stories, songs, rhymes, games, activities, and a costume parade through the library. Extra costumes from the swap are available for those in need. Registration is required for participating children. For more information, call the library at 508-946-2470.
Oct. 29
A spooky spell book workshop for teens will take place at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Middleboro Public Library. Participants can design and craft creepy or fall-themed journal covers. Registration is required; call the library at 508-946-2470.
Oct. 30
Middleboro YMCA Trunk or Treat will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Camp Yomechas, 375 Wareham St. in Middleboro.

A ghost tour investigation at Middleboro Town Hall, Nickerson Avenue, will take place Friday, Oct. 30 with tours at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The event, which is sponsored by the Middleboro Tourism Committee, offers a two-hour guided paranormal investigation exploring shadowy halls, historic chambers, and experimental spirit-detection equipment.

Oct. 31
The Central Congregational Church will host a Trunk or Treat in the Middleboro Town Hall parking lot, 10 Nickerson Ave., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
Those attending are asked to wear family-friendly costumes as they view decorated vehicles and get candy. Organizers anticipate that the Middleboro Fire and Police departments will participate again this year.
