From hands-on learning and skill-building to exploring new interests and advancing on the trail to Eagle, area scouts and instructors took part in the recent at Merit Badge Mania at Camp Norse in Kingston.
The program featured teachers for 29 merit badges in an array of subjects, including archery, rifle shooting, camping, cooking, first aid, movie making and surveying.
Merit badge instructors included Donald Baldwin, who spoke about engineering, and Danielle Baldwin, whose specialty was nature instruction. Both are from Middleboro.
Steve Medeiros worked on fishing skills with the scouts. He is from Lakeville.
The event chair was Middleboro resident John Burbage.
