On September 25, 2026 Kay L. (Erickson) Vantran passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She was 81.
She was born in Middleborough on January 18, 1945 and was a graduate of Memorial High School, Class of 1963. Following high school, she attended Union Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as an RN in 1965.
In 1967, she married Doug Vantran in Middleboro and moved to Walden, New York. In the next 6 years Kay and Doug started what was to be the greatest joy of their lives, their family of 4 children.
Kay then went on to become a school nurse primarily at Walden Elementary School. A job she embraced.
In 1999, Kay and Doug returned to Middleborough, saying you can’t keep a townie away. In the next few years Kay enjoyed her life working at Dress Barn, selling Mary Kay, scrap booking, traveling and enjoying Loon Pond.
She is survived by her husband Doug; their children: Anne and Kellie of East Taunton, Steven and Julie of Putnam CT, Doug, III and Nicole of Middleborough, Paul and Juanita of Waltham; grandsons: Douglas IV of Washington, DC and Jack of Bridgewater. Sister of Kent and Jerry of Lakeville and Lois of South Carolina.Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence (Bud) and Lois Erickson.
A Memorial gathering will be held on October 25, 2026 from 2 until 4 PM in the Middleboro Elks, 24 High Street, Middleborough.
