The board now has two freshly elected members in Kristen Howard and Evagelia Fabian. During the first Select Board meeting after the election on Tuesday, April 7, members also voted Christopher Plonka into the vice chair role.
The former chair, Maureen Candito, ran for reelection this year but did not receive enough votes to hold her seat on the board.
Prior to the vote, Fabian discussed her concerns with board members about Carboni becoming chair.
“Lorraine runs a very long meeting,” Fabian said. “I'm sorry Lorraine, but the building committee meetings are long, and I think your Select Board meetings are extensively long.”
No further discussion followed. Carboni was voted into the chair position by all members except Fabian.
During the meeting, members also approved the Special Election for the operational tax override to be held on May 19.
Town Administrator Andrew Sukeforth said a number of community outreach meetings are scheduled leading up to the election, and the town will soon have meeting dates and times posted on the town website.
