Power outage and road closure on Precinct Street in Lakeville after early morning crash
LAKEVILLE — Precinct Street is closed and two utility poles were destroyed following a single vehicle crash that occurred in the early morning Saturday.
The Lakeville Police Department urges residents to avoid the intersection on Precinct Street, between Bedford and Pickens Streets due to ongoing repair work. The department stated that delays are to be expected throughout the afternoon on Saturday.
Motorists south of the intersection may use Heritage Hill Dr. instead of Precinct Street.
Early Saturday, a motorist reported they swerved to avoid a deer and struck a utility pole near the intersection which caused a second pole to fall, the department stated in a press release. The driver was not "seriously injured” according to police.
There is also a power outage in the nearby area, and electricity is known to be out at the Lakeville Public Library, the United Church of Christ and at least one home in the area.
Saturday activities at the library are cancelled.
