Lakeville police warn of increase in recent vehicle break-ins
LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Police Department is investigating an increase in motor vehicle break-ins in the area.
The department stated in a press release that there has been a recent rise in vehicle break ins in Lakeville and in neighboring communities. Suspects are primarily targeting unlocked vehicles in driveways.
The department said most of these crimes happen overnight and involve suspects checking for “easy targets” such as unlocked vehicles that have valuables in plain sight.
Police recommend residents to remove valuables from their vehicles overnight, and to lock their vehicle doors.
