Middleboro collecting grocery donations for people in need
MIDDLEBORO — With the current delay of November SNAP benefits, the Middleboro Council on Aging and the Middleboro Public Library are accepting grocery gift cards for residents in need of food assistance.
People interested in making a donation can bring $25 denomination grocery store gift cards to the council, located at 558 Plymouth St. and the library, located at 102 N Main St. Cash and checks can be made out to the Town of Middleborough Emergency Fund.
Distribution to qualifying residents will be facilitated by the Council on Aging and the Middleboro Public School District.
The council is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the library’s hours run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
At the library, gift certificates can be dropped off in the lockbox located on the side of the circulation desk on the first floor.
