From ticks to the Titanic, check out Middleboro Senior Center
There’s a lot happening in July at the Middleboro Senior Center. Here are a few offerings.
Lifelong Learning Series: Fashion Aboard the Titanic With Ren Antonowicz of Spirits of Fashion ,Thursday, July 30, at 1 p.m.
Learn about what the passengers of the Titanic wore on that fateful voyage. The program will look at the fashions of 1912, as well as what was worn before that year and up to World War I.

Learn more about mosquito and tick awareness with Erin Morrill and Blake Dinius at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 23.
Morrill, community liason for the Plymouth County Mosquito Control Project, will discuss the services provided by the project. She will also offer safety and prevention advice, including the importance of protecting oneself from mosquito bites, choosing effective repellents, understanding mosquito-borne diseases and learning how to remove items that hold water on your property.
Blake Dinius, entomologist for the Plymouth County Extension, will speak about ticks, insect identification along with management tips for prevention, proven protection methods, tick biology and ecology, tick borne diseases and "myth busting'' about tick information.

The Middleboro Council on Aging offers a variety of support services for senior residents, including the day program known as “The Good Times Club.” Adult Day programs provide benefits to elders experiencing isolation, dementia or Alzheimer’s, depression or inadequate mental and physical stimulation.
