School closures, parking bans and Sunday storm forecast
Middleboro and Lakeville are expected to be hit by blizzard conditions closing schools and starting parking bans beginning Sunday, Feb. 22.
The National Weather Service blizzard warning remains in effect from Sunday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. to Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 a.m.
Total snow accumulations are expected to be between 18 and 25 inches. Wind gusting will be as high as 75 miles per hour according to the National Weather Service.
Possible impacts include low visibility, fallen tree branches and power outages. The National Weather Service recommends travel should be for emergencies only.
Middleboro Public and Freetown Lakeville Regional schools and all school related activities will be closed Monday, Feb. 23 due to the storm.
The Town of Middleboro announced parking bans are in effect. The Middleboro Police Department will be ticketing and towing any vehicles.
The town offices of Middleboro will be closed on Monday, Feb. 23 and there will be no trash pickup.
The Town of Lakeville announced parking bans are in effect from Sunday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. to Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m.
Lakeville town offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 23. Lakeville's warming center is available upon demand. Call the Lakeville Fire Department at 508-947-4121 for information and assistance.
