Gary John Marozas, 86

Gary John Marozas of Middleboro died peacefully on April 26, 2026.  He was 86. 

He was born and raised in Rego Park, New York and was a graduate of Forest Hills High School.  A gifted athlete, Gary received a Basketball Scholarship to St. John's University (1958-1961).  Following college, Gary worked for Coca-Cola as a truck driver and did welding.  Later, he devoted 27 years to the City of New York as a Firefighter.  He retired at the age of 55. 

Gary met Joan (Resignato) in 1963 and they were married in 1964.  He always had a love for traveling and spending his time, skiing, hiking and biking.  Gary, with his wife Joan and their three children traveled across the country by motor home many times. Trips included visiting Canada and Alaska.  Trips continued with Joan following retirement as Gary did not like to fly. 

Gary and Joan moved to Oak Point in Middleboro in 2011 to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.

In addition to Joan, he is survived by two children, Jennifer and Michael and two grandchildren.  He was pre-deceased by his son, Gary. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 30, 2026 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church of Holy Apostles Parish, 575 Monponsett Street, Halifax.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
