John J. Hebert, Sr., 77
MIDDLEBOROUGH - John J. Hebert, Sr., age 77, of Middleborough, died from complications of an accident on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Born in Middleborough, he was the son of the late George Hebert & the late Gladys (Madden) Creamer & her late husband Ralph Creamer. John grew up and attended public schools in Middleborough. He began working for Larry Cannon where he learned and perfected the craft of restoring automobiles and buses. He later worked at Rockland Industries before becoming independent and self-employed. He established John's Repair in Middleborough, working on heavy equipment and big rigs. John owned and operated several businesses along Route 28 in Middleborough. He created John Hebert Trucking, driving trucks on long-hauls as well as sand & gravel trucks. He established JJH Enterprise with his wife and son, opening the business: Cut-Rite, a thriving and in-demand firewood business that his son continues to operate, continuing his legacy. John's Son-in-Law, Rich, also continues his legacy with Rich's Repair, working on heavy equipment.
John's passion was cars and John Deere tractors. He loved fast cars, classic cars and farm tractors; at any time, John could be found working on or rebuilding a classic car or a tractor. His favorite classic car was the NOVA, John loved that car! John was a simple, easy-going man who was always available to lend a hand. He enjoyed having breakfast with his buddies, adored his animals and loved spending time with his family. John was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
John was the beloved husband for 46 years to Lenora (Teceno) Hebert; loving father of John J. Hebert, Jr. & his wife Tekeyla of Middleborough, Lisa Hebert of Maine, Paula Bragga & Son-in-Law Rich of Middleborough and the late Tammy Hebert; cherished grandfather of Eva "Dolly" Teresa Hebert, Beth, Tara, David, Elisha, Stephen, Jamison and Katheryn; great-grandfather of Paige, Kodee, Jeremy, Athena, Myles and Laura; dear brother of Judith and the late Gladys; dear brother-in-law of Teresa Mobley & her husband Michael; and life-long friend of Franky Rogers, Deveron Cole and Bob Legg.
There will be NO visiting hours.
Funeral and interment services are private.
Family and friends are welcome to his Celebration of Life at the Middleboro Lodge of Elks, 24 High Street, Middleborough, on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 12:00 NOON to 4:00 PM.
