MIDDLEBORO -- New flags were placed at the graves of the more than 650 veterans buried at Nemasket Hill Cemetery on Saturday, May 16, which is also Armed Forces Day.
The Nemasket Hill Cemetery Veterans Trustees organized a group of volunteers to put out new flags to honor veterans buried there, whose service goes as far back as King Philip’s War.
The flag placement is preparing the cemetery for Memorial Day.
The veterans’ team is always looking for any information about any veteran buried at the cemetery. Anyone who knows someone without a veterans medallion, or who wants to share a story of a veteran there, should reach out to nhcvets@aol.com.
