Things to do: March 21 - March 24
SATURDAY, MARCH 21
Cooler Middleboro Fair
MIDDLEBORO — The fourth annual Cooler Middleboro Fair has a cool new addition this year — a hand-painted Earth globe as tall as a house.
The free fair will return on Saturday, March 21, and will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Middleboro High School Café Commons. The new globe display will be presented by Bridgewater State University geography staff who will answer whatever questions spring to mind.
Kids and families can also walk inside a life-size inflatable humpback whale, plant seeds, win prizes for a scavenger hunt, play games and make crafts — for free.
School students, Girl Scouts, and local youth groups will exhibit what they’re learning about the environment and sustainability. Middleboro High Innovation Lab woodworking students and Sustainable Middleboro nonprofit volunteers will also show the low-cost insulating window inserts they made this winter for food pantry constituents.
For adults, the fair will be a one-stop-shop to learn about the many ways to save money and energy through insulation, heat pumps, hot water heaters, induction stoves and solar panels — and at the same time attendees can learn rebates, 0% low-interest loans and other incentives for the energy-saving methods.
TUESDAY, MARCH 24
Wrestling storytime
MIDDLEBORO — Join wrestlers, ahead of Middleborough Mania 5, for a storytime and crafts at a family friendly event on Tuesday, March 24.
The event will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the library’s Large Meeting room. Middleboro Public School’ own Meghan Enos and Powerful Pat Garrett will be at the event to read to families, answer wrestling questions and pose for photos.
Middleborough Mania 5 is a family-friendly wrestling show that will be held at John T. Nichols Middle School on March 27 to fundraise for the school's programs.
No registration is required. All ages are welcome.
