‘Sacrifice: The Heart of the Military’ quilt art exhibit now showing at the Lakeville library

All of the quilts are crafted by artists Deanne Joy and Elise Sopelle.LAKEVILLE — An exhibit exploring the sacrifices of military members through quilt artwork will fill the Great Ponds Gallery at the Lakeville Public Library until Feb. 17.
The Great Ponds Gallery's new exhibit titled "Sacrifice: The Heart of the Military" pays tribute to the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of United States military personnel across a century of service.
Quilts crafted by artists Deanne Joy and Elise Sopelle representing six major U.S. conflicts are hung around the gallery, accompanied by art posters with historical photos, poetry, and contextual information.
The free exhibit can be viewed during regular library hours from now through Saturday, Feb. 17. There will not be a reception for this show, though visitors can share their comments in a guest book on the front table.
The library is located at 4 Precinct St.
