Robert Louis Orabona, 89
Robert Louis Orabona of Middleboro died peacefully on June 3, 2026 in the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham following a period of declining health. He was 89 and the adored husband of Diane Dolan-Orabona.
He was born on March 29, 1937 in Fall River, son of the late Angelo R. and Rosella (Burns) Orabona. Bob attended local schools and was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School. A veteran, Bob served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged. He was a talented, self-taught engineer who devoted 42 years to the construction industry, engaging in all phases of commercial construction. This included estimating, project management, supervision and design.
Bob was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. He was a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and the Commemorative Air Force among others.
A kindhearted and decent man, Bob was a loving and devoted husband. Strong and dependable, he had a variety of interests. He loved music, watching good movies, especially Westerns and had a great appreciation for animals and nature. He married Diane on the beach, where he continued to enjoy the ocean and Cape Cod vacations. Bob was naturally creative and loved to build and fix things. There was always a project to do! He had a great sense of humor, a sharp wit and was always quick with a joke.
In addition to the love of his life, Diane, he enjoyed the company of their beloved cat and sidekick of 20 years, Tabitha. Whatever he was doing, she was right there.
Funeral arrangements are private.
