Myron E. Trop, 91

MIDDLEBOROUGH  -  Myron E. Trop, age 91, of Middleborough, formerly of Halifax, died on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Oakhill Healthcare in Middleborough.

Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Raymond & Elna (Braddock) Trop.  Myron grew up and attended public schools in Halifax.  He was a U.S. Army veteran who served for two years during the Korean War.  After the war, Myron married his childhood sweetheart, Stella Wilmot, and they remained married for 56 years.  For many years, he was an accomplished carpenter who built his Halifax home starting from a kit.  Myron was fascinated with building boxes of various sizes as well as fishing nets.  He liked driving his ATV; he built and attached a side box to the ATV for his faithful companion.  Myron was happiest just sitting and watching the wildlife, especially the birds and squirrels.  In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  To know Myron, was to love Myron and his dry sense of humour!  He loved his family and the pets he had over the years.  Myron will be missed.

Myron was the beloved husband of the late Stella E. (Wilmot) Trop; loving father of Cindy Benson of Dedham, Maine, Holly Norvish & her husband Robert of Middleborough, Jeffery Trop & his wife Rebecca of Carver, Steven Trop & his wife Nancy of Halifax, and the late Myron (Mike) Trop, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Emily, Gretchen, Nancy, Keith, Kerri, Steven, and the late Aaron; great-grandfather of Noah, Charlotte, Logan, Delaney, Elliot, and Oliver; dear brother of Raymond Trop of Cape Cod and the late Martha Hathaway.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley~Drolette Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, MIDDLEBOROUGH, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM.

All are welcome to his Memorial Service at the Faith Chapel Assemblies of God Church, 340 Pleasant Street, BRIDGEWATER, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

All are cordially invited to the Graveside Services in the Central Cemetery, 60 Hemlock Lane, HALIFAX, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:30 AM.
