Two seriously injured in Lakeville crash
LAKEVILLE – Two people were seriously injured Monday evening following a crash involving a motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle, Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins reported.
Rescuers responded to a location on Route 18 in Lakeville at 6:24 p.m. Sept. 7 for a report of a motorcycle crashing into another vehicle.
A Yamaha motorcycle crashed into a Honda CRV, Perkins said. A man operating the motorcycle and a woman driving the Honda were taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton by Lakeville Fire ambulances with serious injuries, Perkins said.
They were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles. Their ages and places of residence were not immediately available.
The roadway was closed in both directions as authorities investigate the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the Lakeville Police Department with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
Mutual aid at the scene was provided by the Middleboro Police Department and units from the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office.
