Lakeville Lions mane-tain the medians

May 9, 2025

Last week the Lakeville Lions Club broke out the shovels and rakes to beautify the medians near the Lakeville Library.

Select Board member Chris Plonka was joined by several other members of the Lions including newcomer Derek Wedge, who owns his own landscaping company.

The Lions take care of the medians three times a year. In the spring and summer they weed and mulch them and in the fall they plant mums.

“It’ll look good for two weeks and then it’ll get overgrown,” Plonka said with a laugh.

The town purchased the mulch for the Lions at a 50% discount from Beaver Tree Works.
