Historical museum admission free through end of year
MIDDLEBORO -- The Middleboro Historical Association will offer free admission in 2026 to the Middleboro Historical Museum, thanks to an anonymous donor.
The special initiative is being offered in recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and is intended to encourage residents and visitors to explore the rich history of Middleboro.
The museum, located at 18 Jackson St., will be open Saturdays through Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The museum brings the town's past to life through exhibits, artifacts, and immersive period spaces.
Visitors can learn about some of Middleboro's most notable residents, including world-famous entertainers Tom Thumb (Charles Stratton) and Lavinia Warren (General and Mrs. Tom Thumb) and acclaimed American portrait painter Cephas Thompson.
Guests can also step back in time in several recreated historic settings, including the popular Peirce General Store, which offers a glimpse into 19th century community life. In addition to exhibits, the museum offers activities for children and families.
