Stephen Allen Hosley, 79
Sep 20, 2024
Stephen Allen Hosley of Middleboro passed away suddenly on September 16, 2024 just a week away from his 80th birthday.
He was born in Quincy on September 23, 1944 to the late Vera G. (Andrews) and Benjamin W. Hosley. Steve was married to his wife, Jaclyn for 46 years before she passed in 2021. Steve graduated from Middleboro High School in 1962 and worked driving the egg truck for Wampanucket Egg Farm in Middleboro which was owned by his brother Robert (who predeceased him) for many years. He then worked for Middleboro Highway Department from 1975 to 1986 then transferred to the Middleboro Water Department from which he retired in 2003.
During retirement he was self-employed doing Backflow & Cross Connection testing part-time for several surrounding towns right up until the time of his death. Steve was a soft spoken, easy going gentleman with an optimistic outlook on life, taking everything in stride. He assisted his wife Jackie with her ceramic classes she taught, being in charge of the kiln and putting together all the electric components when necessary, as well as all the heavy lifting. Steve and Jackie’s favorite eatery was Apazidis Family Restaurant in Middleboro where they liked to meet up with friends to socialize. Steve continued that routine weekly by himself right up until the time of his death. Steve will be missed, especially by his dog Starr.
Steve wished that no services be held just remember him by doing a good deed for another.
