Line dancing, comedic juggling and more to do this week
Downtown Middleboro will take on a country flair Friday, Aug. 1, as the Friends of the Middleboro Public Library host “Dance the Night Away! Line Dancing in the Parking Lot!” as part of the town’s First Friday series.
The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Peirce Street and North Main Street. Line dancing is free and open to all. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Attendees can learn new steps, show off their skills and dance throughout the evening. Food will be available for purchase from Main Ingredient, and a mechanical bull will be on-site for those looking to test their rodeo abilities.
On Saturday, Aug. 2, the public library will host a gameshow-themed “Buildwave” event where youth participants can use different materials like Lego to build unique creations.
The Middleboro Public Library will host the “Buildwave” event at 11 a.m. on Aug. 2. A portion of the event is intended for kids ages 11 and up, and will start at 12:30 p.m., kids ages five to 11 are welcome at 11 a.m. At the science and art themed event with a gameshow twist, participants will be led through multiple building steps while they build with Lego and Plus-Plus materials.
“Each building wave is enhanced by a dynamic audiovisual experience unlike any other,” the library stated in a press release.
Buckle up for a world-record level of comedic juggling that is coming to the library on Aug. 12.
Performer Bryson Lang will present an interactive juggling routine filled with comedy and fun for the whole family at 12:30 p.m. at the Middleboro Public Library on Aug. 12. The performance is set to include juggling routines and audience participation.
Registration is not required for the free event. Seating is based on a first come, first serve basis. The program is supported by the Peirce Trust.
