‘Matilda the Musical, Jr.’ to be performed at Nichols Middle School
MIDDLEBORO — The Nichols Middle School Drama Club will present “Matilda the Musical, Jr.,” based on the book by Roald Dahl, at 7 p.m. Friday Jan. 31 and 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday Feb. 1.
This story follows Matilda, played by sixth grader Savannah Kelley, as she leads her schoolmates in fighting back against the tyrannical headmistress, Agatha Trunchbull, played by eighth grader Sabrina Toy.
Matilda is helped along the way by her teacher, Miss Honey, played by seventh grader Scotti Brogna, the librarian, Mrs. Phelps, played by eighth grader Chloe Cunha and classmates played by Avery Clifford, Jack Guilfoy, Clover Heinstadt, Henry Jope, Benjamin Luce, Mackenzie O’Connell, Nathan Phenix, Samantha Ring, among others.
The show is directed by Susan Schobel, with music direction by Eliza Thornton and choreography by Erin Brogna. All tickets are $10 and are available at the door for each performance. The school is located at 112 Tiger Drive, Middleboro.
