Search Committee interviews town manager candidates
MIDDLEBORO — The Town Manager Search Committee is narrowing down the field of applicants for Middleboro’s permanent town manager spot.
Search Committee Chair Joseph Mandile told the Select Board at its Oct. 19 meeting that the committee is beginning to interview candidates for the position. He said that the committee will submit a list of finalists to the Select Board in “a few weeks.”
Mandile said that “over 20” people applied, with some of them being applicants from the first application cycle this past summer. He described it as a “robust group of applicants.”
He said the committee will interview as many candidates as it needs to. It wants the process to be as exhaustive as possible, he said.
The new town manager would replace Interim Town Manager Robert Nunes, who took over from the first interim town manager, Joe Perkins, in September. Nunes’ contract with the town expires on March 31, 2027.
