Tropical weather warning dropped for southern New England

Post-tropical cyclone Lee, formerly categorized as a hurricane, passed by Middleboro and Lakeville and the rest of the South Coast from Friday evening into Saturday morning. As of 11:17 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, all tropical storm warnings have been dropped by the National Weather Service for southern New England.

Cape Cod and Islands can still expect wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour. A high surf warning is still in place the Massachusetts and Rhode Island coasts.

According to Middleboro Town Manager James McGrail, Middleboro did not see any storm-related issues. 

“If nothing else it was good to get together and plan for future emergencies,” said McGrail. 

According to Lakeville Fire Chief Michael O’Brien, the department did not receive any storm-related calls.
