Teen volunteers to fill Rotary book boxes

Jan 4, 2025

MIDDLEBORO — Jake Quevillon, 17, recently offered his community service hours to help restock the eight little book boxes sponsored by the Middleboro Rotary Club. He visited each book box, rearranged the stock and added books for adults and children.

The boxes are located at North Congregational church, Pratt Farm, Field of Dreams, Pierce Playground, LifeHouse church, Middleboro YMCA, First Universalist Church and Captains Way in Lakeville.

Rotary members report that his efforts reflect their principle of “Service Before Self,’’ a mission that Middleboro Rotary has upheld for nearly 55 years.

Community members who share that vision are encouraged to participate in Rotary activities, either as active members or as participants in ongoing projects and initiatives.

The books in the boxes are donated by community members. Suggestions for locations of the boxes this spring are welcome.

To learn about Rotary, community members are encouraged to attend a meeting. The club meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Fireside Grille, 30 Bedford St. For more information, contact Kevin “Quack’’ Quackenbush at QuackSellsHomes@gmail.com.
