Seven applicants in the running for Town Administrator position
LAKEVILLE — As summer days fly by, Lakeville town officials are working hard to find the next town administrator to succeed former Town Administrator Ari Sky who resigned in January of 2024.
The Lakeville Town Administrator Search Committee will review seven applicants' resumes and applications on Thursday, July 18, according to committee members.
These seven applicants were selected as finalists in a review conducted by Municipal Resources Inc., the employment consulting firm contracted by the town.
Robert Nunes has served as Lakeville’s Interim Town Administrator since Sky resigned.
Town Administrator Search Committee and Select Board member Maureen Candito said the hope is to hire a new town administrator in time to allow for a transitionary period before Nunes’ contract is up by early fall.
Nunes is currently scheduled to be reappointed on July 8 to extend his contract, which terminates on July 18.
The Town Administrator Search Committee is composed of Lakeville Select Board members Lia Fabian and Maureen Candito, Building Commissioner Nate Darling, Police Chief Matthew Perkins, Finance Committee members Christopher Plonka and Katherine Desrosiers, Town Clerk Lillian Drane and Human Resources Director Lacey Marshall.
Once the seven applications are reviewed by the search committee, a smaller number will be presented to the Select Board for evaluation and public interviews.
Candito said the Select Board’s goal is to make an offer by the end of the summer, but “hopefully sooner.”
