Mary Paula Gabriel, 79

Mary Paula Gabriel, born March 5, 1947, passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 79.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Rose English; her father, John B. English; and her brother, John B English Jr. She was the devoted wife of George Michael Gabriel Jr. and loving mother to Thomas Galvin Gabriel and Marie Elizabeth Gabriel-Allen.  Mary was also the beloved sister of Eugenie Boliver and Jane Mansfield.

She was a cherished grandmother to Collin Gabriel, Bridget Gabriel, Abby Gabriel, Drew Gonzalez, Francesca Gonzalez, and Evelyn Gabriel-Allen. Mary’s family will remember her with undying love and gratitude.

Mary was a dedicated teacher, aircraft mechanic, commercial rated multi-engine pilot, and FAA Safety Inspector.  She was an animal lover, and a devout Catholic with an unshakable faith. Mary will be remembered for her sharp humor and for being a loyal and steadfast friend.

Funeral from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro, Friday (October 16, 2026) at 9 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church of Saint Isidore Parish at 10 AM.  Interment will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery.

Visiting hours Thursday (October 15, 2026) from 4 until 6 PM.
