Rotary Club auction broadcasts live March 19

MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro Rotary Club annual Cable TV Charity Auction will take place Sunday, March 19. The auction will be broadcast live on the local access cable channels, and will be streamed live across the region on MCCAM02346.COM.  This year all bidding will be on-line and the bidding has already started. 

Rotary Club president Albert Mui and auction chair persons Cherie Kostant and Bob Saquet are bringing a new level of technology to the auction in the hope of reaching a larger bidding audience.  Visit the web site www.middlebororotary.com and hit the auction link to view all the items and the current bids.

Auction items include a replica Tiffany table lamp, YMCA memberships, a man’s wrist watch, a truckload of loam from S. Redlon, a powered recliner from Eggers,  a wedding DJ or theme entertainment by Kevin Richman, gift baskets from Muckey’s of Lakeville, gift cards to dozens of area restaurants, salons, spas and specialty stores, auto services, handmade bird houses, pet food and supplies, tickets to a Dionne Warwick concert, a paint ball session at P&L Paintball in Bridgewater, a kayak from Banana’s, and several antiques and much more.  There are over 100 items to be bid on.

Corporate sponsors include North Easton Savings Bank, Rockland Trust Company, Dr Peter Regas, Murphy Adjusters, and WPLM-FM radio. The auction has been the club’s major fundraiser for over 30 years. For more information visit the club’s web site, MiddleboroRotary.Com.

Proceeds from the auction help the Middleboro Rotary support its educational and charitable programs which include local college scholarships and school tutorial programs along with numerous community service projects including the book boxes that have been placed in key locations in town. Rotary International also supports disaster relief and a program to end polio worldwide and sponsors efforts to provide clean drinking water in developing nations.

Online bidding will continue up to the live broadcast where they will be closed on an hourly basis. Winners will be notified to confirmed high bidders. Items can be picked up that day at the MCCAM studio at 1 South Main St. in Middleboro.
