Robert W. Durfee, 88
Mr. Robert W. Durfee, age 88, of Lakeville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025. He was the devoted husband of 66 years to Patricia (Cole) Durfee. Born in Middleboro, Massachusetts on February 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Helen (Sullivan) and Warren R. Durfee.
Raised and educated in Middleboro, Mr. Durfee graduated from Middleboro High School before enlisting in the United States Coast Guard. He served his country honorably and was a proud United States Veteran. Following his service, he settled in Lakeville, where he and his beloved wife Patricia built a loving home and family.
Mr. Durfee was known as a Master Fisherman, enjoying countless hours fishing throughout Cape Cod. He also found joy in golfing and camping and treasured the cross-country trips to Alaska that he shared with his wife, journeys they made together twice in their camper. Renowned for his skill and resourcefulness, Mr. Durfee could fix nearly anything and took great pride in maintaining and improving his home.
Mr. Durfee’s life was marked by dedication to his family, a spirit of adventure, and a commitment to service. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
In addition to his loving wife Patricia, Robert was the father of Michael W. Durfee and his wife Lauren of Bridgewater, Mark C. Durfee of Middleboro and the late Kevin R. Durfee of Taunton. He was the proud grandfather of Jennifer Cummings and her husband Anthony of TN, and Steven Durfee and his wife Mackenzie of Taunton. He was also the great-grandfather of Ella Mae Cummings, Jaxson Cummings, both of TN and Laila Durfee of Taunton.
A graveside service with Military Honors will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 at 11:00am in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, 135 Wood St., Middleboro, MA 02346.
