Three injured in serious crash in South Middleboro
MIDDLEBORO — Middleboro police and fire departments responded to a two-vehicle crash Monday that required a helicopter airlift for one passenger involved in the crash.
The departments reported an early morning crash occurred between two vehicles around Highland and Spruce streets in Middleboro on Monday, Dec. 1. First responders found two heavily damaged vehicles, and three passengers with “serious” but non-life threatening injuries.
One of the victims was treated at the scene, then transported to a nearby landing zone on Cowan Drive and flown by a Boston MedFlight helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital.
The other two victims were transported by ambulance to area hospitals.
Fire officials stated firefighters used specialized hydraulic-rescue tools to free two of the victims from their damaged vehicle.
The details of those involved in the crash have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation by Middleboro police and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office's Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
