William L. Sukeforth, 95
William L. Sukeforth of Middleboro, husband of the late Mona (Demers) Sukeforth, peacefully passed away on Saturday November 29th at the age of 95. He is survived by his three sons William III and his wife Cindy, Matthew and his wife Anna-Maria and Stephen and his wife Kim. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael and his partner Kate Finnegan, Andrew and his wife Mairin, Lucia, and his great grandchild Eleanor. He was the brother of Russell Perkins and Mary Cifrino and was predeceased by his sister Sally Hunt.
Bill was the son of William and Ruth (Duncklee) Sukeforth. He was born and raised in Middleboro, graduating from Middleboro High School. He joined the US Navy at the age of 17 and served during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Civil Engineer for 37 years. He was also elected to the Middleboro Board of Assessors and served for many years never losing an election. After retiring, he went on to be the caretaker at the Church at the Green Cemetery and worked there until age 80.
Bill was a man of strong faith as God was always at the forefront of his life. He was an active member of the First Congregational Church at the Green. He was a wise, strong, compassionate, generous and optimistic person. He always found the good in every difficult situation throughout his life. He had a great sense of humor and could match wits with anyone. Bill was a true inspiration to his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Funeral and Interment services will be private.
