Netflix standout to perform, teach at Alley Theatre
MIDDLEBORO -- Netflix "Building the Band" singer and Wareham native Peter Vincent Carboni will be at The Alley Theatre, 133 Center St., Middleboro, on June 30 for a masterclass and concert.
"The Long Way Home" will offer a night of oldies, such as Elvis, Frankie Valli, Drifters, Temptations, Simon and Garfunkel, newer material including One Direction and Backstreet Boys, a few alumni, and the music of Carboni, an award-winning singer-songwriter.
He got his start at the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts in Middleboro, which eventually led to his tenure in professional a cappella groups like the Hyannis Sound. Over the years, his vocal journey has taken him from intimate stages to iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall and even a private performance for President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama.
In 2025, he made waves as a standout contestant on the Netflix show "Building the Band,'' where his audition earned a rare solo spotlight. The appearance introduced him to a worldwide audience and marked a major step forward in his career.
His independent pop project “vinnny” was born during a nine-month luxury world cruise that brought him to five different continents. Between performances and travel, he wrote and released music inspired by the people he encountered along the way.
His sophomore single, "Favorite,'' won Best in Pop at the New England Songwriting Competition.
The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 in honor of the 30th anniversary of The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts. Coffee Milano will be offering food. The Bartending Service of New England will be offering beverages. The Alley Theatre is located at 133 Center Street in Middleborough.
A masterclass will be offered earlier that day from 2:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Students will learn about the art of storytelling through song.
Participants will perform a song for Carboni and will receive feedback and tips to strengthen their showmanship and improve their presence in auditions and on stage.
He will teach the songs “Golden’’ from “Kpop Demon Hunters’’ and “Pretty Little Baby’’ by Connie Francis. Their numbers will be performed during the concert that night. The masterclass is $75 per student.
