Middleboro Unitarian Church welcomes new minister
MIDDLEBORO — A new face will be leading the service at The First Unitarian Universalist Society in Middleboro.
Reverend Beau Rivers began as the church’s new minister on Thursday, Aug. 1. Rivers will lead her first worship service at the church’s ‘Ingathering’ service on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 10:30 a.m. ‘Ingathering’ is a tradition that celebrates the coming of a new congregational year.
Adults and children are welcome to attend this service.
Rivers preaches core values of Unitarian Universalism that reflect the Unitarian mission “to create a more equitable world” such as interdependence and the plurality of all life, the church stated.
The need to exercise these values along with the “transforming” power of love, is “vital” in today’s political climate and can be achieved by coming together as a community, according to the church.
Rivers earned her Master of Divinity from The Andover Newton Theological School brings skills such as community building and planning to the The First Unitarian Universalist Society.
She is passionate about social justice, interfaith coalitions and supporting immigrants and the Native American population.
