Middleboro schools finance director leaving for Old Rochester district

Former Middleboro Interim Superintendent of Schools and Director of Business and Finance Michael Perrone is leaving for a position with the Old Rochester Regional School District.

Perrone has been named interim assistant superintendent of finance and operations at the Old Rochester Regional School District. He will join the district Sept. 21.

“It’s a loss for us,’’ Middleboro School Committee Chair Susan Pennini said of Perrone’s departure. “He did yeoman’s work covering two positions during a difficult time.’’

In addition to his business and finance position, Perrone served as interim superintendent after the departure of previous superintendent Carolyn Lyons and prior to David Thomson being selected as interim superintendent through this school year.

The Middleboro School Committee is considering next steps regarding the position, she said.
