Middleboro resident graduates Summa Cum Laude

MIDDLEBORO — Middleboro resident Megan M. Morrissey recently graduated from Western New England University, in Springfield Massachusetts, at the top of her class. Morrissey graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. She also minored in Psychology and Chemistry.

Morrissey was recognized during Western New England’s graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 19, at the MassMutual Center in downtown Springfield, during which more than 520 students received their degrees. The top fields of study for the 2024 class were Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, Psychology, Criminal Justice and Sports Management.

In his remarks, University President Robert E. Johnson pushed students to embrace every challenge as an opportunity for growth: "As you navigate the uncertainties and opportunities that lie ahead, remember that you possess the influence to inspire, innovate, and transform our global society," he said. 

The Western New England University graduating class of 2024 hailed from 21 states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia. Graduates also came from Canada, India, Malaysia, and Pakistan.
