Middleboro man arrested after stabbing in Plymouth
PLYMOUTH — A Middleboro man has been arrested by Plymouth Police after he allegedly stabbed one person and menaced another with a knife at a downtown Plymouth restaurant, according to the department.
Richard Velez, 27, of Middleboro was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, carrying a dangerous weapon and disturbing the peace, subsequent offense.
According to Plymouth Police, at about 11 p.m. Monday, March 18, officers responded to a large fight at a downtown restaurant.
They quelled the disturbance, began providing aid to two people who had been stabbed, and started their investigation, police reported.
Security footage showed a large number of patrons actively fighting, police reported.
Police determined that enough evidence existed to arrest Velez for stabbing one person and menacing another with a knife.
The Investigation is ongoing and more charges may be filed against other patrons, police said.
