Lakeville Town Meeting is tonight
LAKEVILLE — The time has come for voters to cast their ballots.
Voters will head to Lakeville’s Special and Annual Town Meeting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 10 in the Apponequet Regional High School auditorium. A Special Town Meeting will start at 6:30 p.m., where voters will be asked to authorize the use of remaining money in the current town budget to pay for capital projects. Annual Town Meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
Key agenda items for the Annual Town Meeting include next year’s $35,855,026 municipal budget, design development costs for the construction of a new fire station and a citizen’s request to prohibit residents from serving simultaneously on certain boards.
The town seeks residents’ approval to spend $655,000 to fund design development plans for the new fire station, which would be built on Bedford Street at Ted Williams Camp. Design development includes architectural drawings, site and floor plans and mechanical drawings, Interim Town Administrator Robert Nunes has said.
Other issues that voters will be asked authorize include the purchase of nine items as part of the town’s capital improvement plan, as well as the use of Community Preservation funds to repair the cupola at the Lakeville Historical Museum and upgrade the doors at the old Town Hall.
All registered voters may participate.
