Lakeville Garden club plant sale May 11
LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Garden Club will hold its 34th annual spring plant sale on Saturday, May 11, from 9 am to noon at the Lakeville Historic Town House at the intersection of Precinct and Bedford (Route 18) streets.
In addition to annuals, perennials, vegetables, and herbs, there will be an assortment of baked goods, hanging plants, “Garden Treasures”, stained glass items, Mother’s Day gift items, and a Junior Garden Club table. Payments will be accepted in cash or by credit cards.
Girl Scout Troops 77318 and 76200 donated free, handmade wildflower seed bombs to be distributed.
A silent auction of a number of items will serve as a scholarship fundraiser. Past President and Lakeville quilter Pat Bessette has donated many of her wall hangings to the club to be bid on.
Starting in 2024, the club has increased its annual $500 scholarship to a $1,000 scholarship for a resident of Lakeville who is a high school senior continuing their education in the field of horticulture and environmental studies or related fields.
Forms are available at area high schools.
The Lakeville Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Club, Inc., the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc., and the National Arbor Day Society. Meetings are open to the public and membership is not limited to Lakeville residents.
