History brought to life at Pierce Homestead open house May 25
MIDDLEBORO -- Life during the American Revolution will be highlighted during an open house Monday, May 25 at the Col Peter H. Pierce House, 132 North Main St.
The centerpiece of the open house will be a traveling display on the American Revolution, curated by historic reenactor Stephen DelSignore, known for his interpretations of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and World War II.
The event will take place immediately following the Middleboro Memorial Day Parade and Commemoration at Town Hall.
The event will run until 4 p.m. and serves as the official kickoff for a series of community events scheduled throughout the summer to honor the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution.
Visitors can view period-accurate uniforms, pewter and silver goods, tavern items, and household objects.
They can also examine a full-size replica of the Declaration of Independence and artifacts related to the Boston Tea Party, among other educational exhibits.
The open house is free and open to the public. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the mansion.
