Earl O. Bickford, 84
BRIDGEWATER - Earl O. Bickford, age 84, of Bridgewater, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
Born in Fairfield, Maine, he was the son of the late Earl & Bessie (Knox) Bickford. Earl grew up and attended public schools in Oakland, Maine where he excelled in sports, and was a graduate of Oakland High School, Class of 1960. He lived with a strong Christian faith, was a "family-oriented" man, and was proud of supporting his young sons at their sporting events. For over 35 years, he worked for (GE) General Electric in Lynn, retiring as a Construction Supervisor. In retirement, Earl loved woodworking, being outdoors and travelling; he travelled extensively around the United States. He cherished time spent with family and friends; when Earl would play games with anyone, such as cards or horseshoes, he was very competitive, and Earl played to win! He was loved and will be missed.
For 32 years, Earl was the beloved husband to Alice (McMullin) Bickford and also previously married to the late Linda (Clark) Bickford; loving father of Scott Bickford & his wife Susie of Windham, NH and Jeffrey Bickford & his wife Tina of West Newbury; loving step-father of Martin Halvorsen & his wife Diana of Mashpee and Meg McDermott & her husband Stephen of Middleborough; cherished grandfather of Andrew, Nathan, Caleb, Charlotte, Jocelyn and great-grandfather of Ella Rose; dear brother of Jack Bickford & his wife Dorothy of Maine and the late Neil Bickford, Janice Dorval and Elaine Collier. He is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Family and friends are invited to the visitation period at the Ashley~Drolette Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
All are welcome to Earl's funeral service at the Central Congregational Church, 2 Webster Street, Middleborough, on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
Interment services will be private.
