MIDDLEBORO — For Wreaths Across America Day, a nationally recognized day of remembrance, the Nemasket Hill Cemetery of Middleboro paid tribute to the hundreds of veterans who rest in the Middleboro cemetery.
Members of the Nemasket Hill Cemetery continued their annual tradition of placing a wreath at their Civil War cannon to honor more than 600 veterans who are buried at the Middleboro cemetery.
The annual day of remembrance is held to remember, honor and teach others about the sacrifice of veterans. Across the country, volunteers of the Wreaths Across America organization lay wreaths on the graves of veterans every year during the holiday season to spotlight values of freedom and military service.
