MIDDLEBORO — A meet and greet event with a certified therapy dog will be held at the Middleboro Public Library on Aug. 18.

Children can meet Ms. Marilyn and her pet Spaniel, Merline, from 2 to 3 p.m. at 102 N. Main St., in the library’s Large Meeting Room. Children can sign up for 15-minute reading sessions with the Merline the dog to practice their reading skills.

The event is free and does not require registration.

Ms. Marilyn also brings her therapy dogs to the library during the school year for a “Reading with Ms. Marilyn’s Spaniels” program.
