MIDDLEBORO — While the annual North Middleboro parade kicked off Fourth of July festivities for the town, the 55 and older housing community Oak Point celebrated its own Independence Day parade.
Leading the parade was a Middleboro Fire Department ladder truck and a police pickup truck, followed by sports cars, golf carts and even a hot rod.
The event raised $1300 that will be donated to the Oak Point Veterans and the Oak Point Homeowner’s Scholarship Fund, which gives money to Middleboro students.
Vehicles decked out in red, white and blue followed a route that weaved through the community’s roads.
