Rotary Club members and friends take walk through town history
MIDDLEBORO — Members of the Middleboro Rotary Club and friends learned about 12,000 years of area history during a visit to the Robbins Museum, 17 Jackson St., Middleboro .
Greg Lott, vice president and archaeologist at the museum, shared his knowledge and stories.
Many had questions and all enjoyed pizza, Rotary Club members reported.
The Robbins Museum features a “walk-through’’ series of displays showcasing artifacts representing a variety of stone tools across the millenia.
The public may visit the museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays to time travel back in history. Docents will be available to share their knowledge.
The Middleboro Rotary will host an archaeology evening at the Fireside Grille in 2025. The event will feature a hands-on session with many stone tools, including axes, adze, scrapers, pestles and projectile points.
More information on the event will be available as the date gets closer.
